Webinar Transcription

Frankie Lewis:

We've really enjoyed connecting with customers each quarter with these product webinars, and we hope you've been joining them as well if you've been able to attend any of the previous ones. This time will be a little different from previous quarters, so we'll highlight some of our new features like we've done in the past, but then also spend some time running through some of our existing features that we think would really be useful to you. We'll get started. Really quick just want to go through some housekeeping. If you've attended any of these webinars in the past, you've probably seen some of these points. First, you're all in view-only mode, so don't worry you will not be seen or heard during the event. We will run a few polls throughout the webinar, so please submit your answer when we get to those slides. Don't worry, we'll let you know when to. You may have noticed that our live captions are available. You can make them visible by clicking the Closed Caption button you see at the bottom, and then pressing Show Subtitle. We will also send out the recording with captions and slides in the next few days. So don't worry if you miss anything, you'll be able to access all that information after.

Frankie Lewis:

As always, please feel free to submit any questions that come up as you listen to the content. We'll try our best to get to them as we go, but if not, we will address as many as we can at the end. Now for a few introductions from the team. You may have seen me before on these webinars. My name is Frankie. I'm on the Product Marketing team and focus specifically on our self- serve customers. And we have Brianna and Farhan here. I will let them introduce themselves.

Brianna Byers:

Hello. My name is Brianna Byers. I am on the Product Marketing team and focus on our Enterprise Rev Pro customers.

Farhan Manjiyani:

Hey everyone. Farhan Manjiyani here. Also on the Product Marketing team. I focus on our Developer business.

Frankie Lewis:

Awesome. Quick overview of what we're going to be covering today. As I mentioned, we'll start by highlighting our newest features and how they can best be used. Then we'll give some shine to some of our most useful but sometimes forgotten or hidden features within the Rev platform to help ensure that you're getting the most out of your Rev experience. And finally, we'll close by giving you the inside scoop on some of the awesome developments we've been making with Rev.ai, which Farhan is leading up. And of course, end with the Q&A. Before we jump into that, we're going to do our first poll. Let me launch this first one. Awesome. We're really curious to hear if you're all aware of all of Rev's service lines.

Frankie Lewis:

We know sometimes we have customers that can use a lot of transcription but not be aware that caption's available, et cetera. So please take 20 seconds to answer this poll. It should appear on your screen. Feel free to add any additional context to your answer in the Zoom chat. We really appreciate it. Awesome. So here I'm showing the results. Really interesting for us to see that 66% of you guys don't feel like you're aware of all of our service lines. It shows we have work to do on the marketing side for sure to make sure that these are more visible to you. So thank you again. Really appreciate that.

Frankie Lewis:

Awesome. So now ... Sorry. Before we jump into product updates, we want to be sure everyone understands the difference between each of our packages. Under the Rev.com umbrella we have the Rev Starter and Rev Pro, as Brianna mentioned, as the two plans for our human speech-to-text service lines. Rev Starter is our self-serve, pay-as-you-go option, meaning customers can use Rev's on-demand platform whenever they need Rev's services. No need to talk to Sales or sign a contract. You can just go to Rev.com and start ordering right away. This is often the preferred plan for individuals or businesses with one-off needs or small projects.

Frankie Lewis:

The Rev Starter plan still offers customers our top quality transcripts, captions, and subtitles within our 24-hour turnaround time plus access to our 24/7 customer service. On the other hand, for individuals or businesses with reoccurring needs or large projects, Rev Pro is a great solution for you. Customers who spend at least $10,000 a year with Rev are eligible for this plan. Rev Pro includes everything in the Starter plan that I mentioned, plus volume discounts, custom account level and billing settings, a dedicated account manager, premium level products, and more. If you think you're an eligible Rev Pro customer, please reach out to the Sales team to learn more.

Frankie Lewis:

We'll drop a link in the chat now that outlines Rev Pro a little bit more and really what that entails. Then on our other side of the business we have Rev.ai, our best-in-class automatic speech recognition engine built for developers. With industry leading accuracy the automated speech-to-text output. So whether it's streaming or asynchronous helps customers build better products and reduce time to market. I know that's a little bit of mouthful, but it'll become clear as we dive in. So let's jump into the product highlights starting on the Rev.com side of the business. Brianna, I will pass it over to you.

Brianna Byers:

Awesome. Thanks Frankie. I am really excited to share with you some of Rev Pro's, newest features that are available today and also in pilot. Rev's enterprise product vision is to seamlessly integrate Rev into your company's workflow by making Rev easy to buy, easy to use, and easy to share within your organization. First up is one of Rev's newest Enterprise innovation, Premium Service Captions. We know that managing large volumes of video content can be challenging and a time-consuming process. That's why we are thrilled to announce Premium Service Captions. This is a new service line that grants you more caption customization options, and access to our top captioning professionals, helping you increase productivity and spend less time spot-checking your files.

Brianna Byers:

With Premium Service Captions you can customize your preferences, like speaker labeling, atmospherics, caption positioning, profanity, terminology, or your org's unique style guide. This has been especially helpful for companies with unique industry terminology like in the medical or legal industry for example, or have style guides that are important for their brand audience. For example, one organization we work with prefers that in their captions that the B in the word black is capitalized any time it's mentioned in a cultural, racial, or ethnic term, and this is something that we can accommodate for through Premium Services Captions. Next, we are able to increase the efficiency of your distribution workflow by reducing the time you spend in quality control, in some cases by up to 90%.

Brianna Byers:

And last, provide brand protection by automatically surfacing your captions to the top 5% of Rev's captioners who are masters of accuracy, content, timing, and will also follow that unique style guide. This is how it works. First step is, you work with Rev to customize your caption preferences on the front end. Select Premium Service Captions at checkout when you upload your files. Our automated speech recognition develops a first draft and Rev's top expert captioners review and refine your captions while following your unique guidelines. Then your captions go through a second layer of quality review before being delivered to you. What's great about Premium Service Captions is that you can decide which orders get Premium Service at checkout. This allows you to treat different types of content differently.

Brianna Byers:

However, if you want all of your caption orders to automatically be Premium at checkout, you have the option to set that up in your account settings. We currently have Premium Service Captions integrations with our API, YouTube, Panopto and Zapier, and we can build additional integrations that work with your company's workflow. Just reach out to us if you have additional integrations that you need. And even for customers without special terminology guidelines, Premium Service Captions can help you be more efficient in your distribution workflow. Take one of our customers, MVD Entertainment Group, who handles the distribution of hundreds of films per month to platforms like Amazon, Apple, Fandango, and more. Premium Service Captions helped MVD scale their quality control process and reduce the number of files that didn't meet those streaming platforms' strict quality requirements.

Brianna Byers:

This higher level of service has helped MVD cut down the average amount of time spent in quality control by roughly 90%. Going from spending four hours to about 30 minutes spot-checking, and reduce the number of files that got rejected from those platforms by 80%. Another example of one of our customers reaping the benefits of Premium Service Captions is Sundance Film Festival. This year Revvers were able to caption more than 6,000 minutes of video content for the festival and their partners while still delivering a quick turnaround time, so that they could hit deadlines without skipping a beat, even while they were still working across five different time zones. So they were able to reach their largest audience ever by collaborating with Rev to remove those communication barriers.

Brianna Byers:

Premium Service Captions is now available to Rev Pro customers, so we invite you to contact your account manager for pricing details. We will also add a link in the comment section now with our announcement blog, which has a place that you can fill out your contact info if you want to learn more. Awesome. Before we jump into our next topic, I wanted to take a quick poll to better understand how many teams or departments across your organization currently use Rev that you know of. We'll give you a minute to answer. Okay.

Frankie Lewis:

Also, real quick while you guys are filling out the poll, I'm seeing a few people raising their hand. Feel free if you have a question, just put it in the Q&A and direct it to the panelists. We'll be sure to get to that question.

Brianna Byers:

All right. It looks like our poll results are in. About 54% of you have about one team or department using Rev across your organization. 41% have about two to five. 3% are in that six to 10 range. And then we have about another 3% in that 10+ range. Thanks. That's very interesting information.

Brianna Byers:

... 10 plus range. So thanks, that's very interesting information. I want to take an opportunity to talk about our next enterprise innovation, Workspaces, and this is going to be hugely helpful in making Rev easier to buy, share and use across organizations of all sizes.

Brianna Byers:

So we know that for many organizations, completing projects successfully can't rely on physical proximity. Organizations need collaboration tools that they can rely on to save time and maximize productivity and meet deadlines with ease, which is exactly why we are building Workspaces. So with Workspaces, your organization's users across various departments can work independently or collaboratively, all within a single account to get more done with less effort. Essentially, Workspaces are shared file libraries in your Rev account that can be organized by projects, departments or anything else. Authorized users can collaborate with their teams to edit and share files, place new orders and update project status. So both large and small teams benefit from using Workspaces. And you could consider using Workspaces when you have departments, teams or projects with unique budgets, cost centers, or billing needs. If you need to monitor progress for a project with deadlines, or you have individual teams that only need visibility into something specific that they're working on.

Brianna Byers:

So to illustrate quickly how Workspaces is already helping customers in our pilot I wanted to share this example from one of our customers who had one main account where the product team was using the API to automate transcriptions. The reporters and pre-production group were using another account, and this group began using Rev as a separate account because their team is viewed as smaller, had independent work streams and didn't want to hook into the existing API. And since its inception, this group has expanded significantly and is spending roughly the same amount as their main account now. So it's important to note here that each account has unique invoicing information and prepaid balance. So this customer is now hoping to get both teams under one account, however, given the current account limitations such as one account per user, or one API connection per account and one billing method per account, they can't do so under the existing shared account model. However, with Workspaces, Rev will be able to scale with your organization's needs. Each team can live within a Workspace where they can maintain all of their existing content, users, billing settings and integrations. All while giving the organization one central place to view usage across teams and better understand Rev's value to their organization as a whole.

Brianna Byers:

So what's exciting is that we are opening up early access to Rev Pro clients for no additional cost. Some of the immediate benefits you'll see is easier file management, access to new features as soon as they're built like account merging or usage tracking, and an opportunity to inform the future of enterprise products with your feedback.

Brianna Byers:

So to recap, Workspaces is for Rev Pro Customers and ideal if you want to use Rev with others in your organization, need to work collaboratively across teams, projects, or departments, desire to have better file organization and users on your account. We're going to drop a link here in the chat today where you can request to be a part of this early access to Workspaces, so if you are a Rev Pro Customer or interested in becoming a Rev Pro Customer, please fill that out.

Frankie Lewis:

Awesome. Thanks, Brianna.

Brianna Byers:

Yeah.

Frankie Lewis:

So just a quick reminder, as I mentioned earlier, to be eligible for Rev Pro is that 10K minimum. So if you think you need that, also feel free to go to rev.com\contact, and you can reach out to our sales team for more information.

Frankie Lewis:

So like I mentioned, now we're going to give some helpful tips on how to use some of Rev's existing features to really get the most out of your Rev experience. Over the years, we've built a lot of features and products to improve our customer's workflows and quality of the output, whether it's transcripts or captions, and we want to highlight some of the most useful features because we know sometimes they can be missed within the platform. As a team with a customer-centered approach, we spend a lot of time talking to users about what sort of features would improve their workflows, and that often directly impacts what is being built.

Frankie Lewis:

So before we dive into those helpful tips, we're going to do another poll. I will get started now. So we're curious to find out about how you found out about Rev's new features and products. Is there a certain avenue or platform that you find especially effective? We'd love to know. So please take 30 seconds here to answer the poll that should appear on your screen. Again, feel free to add any additional context into the chat. Or if you're unsure what each of these options mean, feel free to add that context as well. Wait a few more seconds. Awesome. So you can see here that marketing emails, 49%. Our marketing would be happy to hear that. But interesting for us to see where you guys are going to get this information and what seems to be most effective for you guys feeling educated on what we're building.

Frankie Lewis:

Again, feel free to add anything else in the chat if you feel like there's something we could be doing better or things you really like. That's always helpful.

Frankie Lewis:

So now jumping into the helpful tips and highlights within the Rev platform, we'll start with our transcript and caption editors. We really believe that with the right tools, transcripts can be more than just static text. We think that a transcript should be an interactive product that aligns with our customer's workflow. For us, that means building a suite of tools that enable Rev customers to review, annotate and collaborate all in one easy-to-access editor, AKA the Rev transcript editor and then the caption editor.

Frankie Lewis:

It is built to deliver insights beyond the transcript for you and your team. So with an embedded media player, which you can see here on the screen, with read along tracking, you can listen or watch the source media and review and edit your transcript to meet your expectations. And also most importantly, you'll never lose where you are in the text if you're reviewing it and pulling out insights. So if you're working with others, you can also easily share your transcript with your clients and or your team with a sharing link. You can grant whether you want to give others just read access or edit access, and then work collaboratively to pull the insights that you need. And it'll all be in one centralized up-to-date document so no more worrying about which Word file in your email inbox has the latest edits. Whether you're working collaboratively or just wanting to be sure you make note of all the key pieces, you can use our other tools in the editor to annotate your transcript.

Frankie Lewis:

Some quotes are worth more than others, as we all know, so you can highlight what you want to keep and strike through what you don't without actually making any edits to the transcript itself. If you want to make notes about your transcript without, again, making any edits to the actual output, you can call out those insights with the comments and notes features within the editor. If you need to make quick edits to your transcript so you can have a polished transcript as a final deliverable, you can easily find keywords to replace with our find and replace feature, you can easily change speaker names so they are consistent throughout, or use the custom start time feature to add a manual offset to adjust the transcript time code to match the burned-in time code. This makes it easier for video editing and production. And of course, once you've made all your edits, notes, comments, or just a simple review of your transcript, you can export a final copy for your own record if you'd like.

Frankie Lewis:

So now you've learned all about the transcript editor, we'll now go into the caption editor, which has some similarities but obviously differences some as well. So at Rev, as you probably are aware of, we provide 99% accurate video captions, but we understand that as a customer you may want to make small modifications to files before pushing them live. These modifications include editing the timing of the caption so they appear on screen longer, as well as fixing the spelling of complicated names or highly technical jargon. Or maybe you just want a simple way to preview the captions on your videos. These are a few of the things our team had in mind when we built the caption editor that you all have free access to.

Frankie Lewis:

So now for a few useful tips when using our caption editor. We offer a spell check tool, which will detect any spelling errors in your captions, ensuring you aren't missing any glaring mistakes in your captions before they go on your video. Just like our transcript editor, you can use our find and replace tool to make quick edits to your captions. If you decide you'd like to revert any changes that you've made, you can always reload the original captions with the click of a button. You can also remove or adjust the formatting of atmospherics, which is any important sounds that appear in the video, within your caption file. You can switch between formal and informal language depending on what's most important to you, or between U.S. and U.K. English, depending on your audience. And lastly, remove gaps between caption groups so that caption switches happen seamlessly.

Frankie Lewis:

Beyond some of these smaller changes, you can also edit caption placement, content and timing. So whether that's creating a new line of captions or merging existing lines or pairing the caption text with the point at which the corresponding speech actually occurs. You can make sure the captions meet your expectations. And of course, if you decide you want help with the editing process or collaborate with others, you can click the share button, just like you can with the transcript editor, and give your edit access to others on your team or clients. Finally, when you're satisfied with the way your captions look, you can download the completed file and choose the desired output file format. So if you joined us for our product webinar in December, you may remember us highlighting our revamped order details page. We think this one is especially important so I wanted to touch on it briefly again. There may be times when you're on a tight deadline, or maybe you just really need to know where your order is, our revamped order details information now provides you with an up-to-date information on the status of your order and when you can expect it to be completed. So you can go to your order history page, select an order within your Rev account to see where your file is in the order cycle and the estimated time remaining until delivery. We've heard from many of our customers how important it is to have visibility into when you can expect to receive your file, and we really hope that this page can now be that source of truth so that you can plan accordingly.

Frankie Lewis:

As mentioned previously, we know how important quality is for a lot of our customers, and that's exactly why we built customer information tools, where customers can actually be a part of the quality assurance process. In case you've never noticed them, they appear on the order confirmation page after you've placed an order. Customers tell us when they come to speech-to-text solutions that the two things they care most about are accuracy and saving time. And of course when files are returned with misspellings due to content that contains industry terminology or hard-to-spell names, customers have to spend time correcting them in the editor, which slows down their workflows.

Frankie Lewis:

Our solution to this problem is our glossary feature. Customers can now submit a reusable glossary of words and acronyms to help our freelancers produce higher quality transcripts and caption files. Now this can be done at the file level or at the account level, so it doesn't need to be repeated in the future. The terms will likely continue to come up. Next time you place an order, keep an eye out for the add a glossary button on the order confirmation page. If you plan to submit future orders that will contain similar terminology, you can give your glossary a name to save it to your account and easily add it to files in the future. Saved glossaries will appear in the right-hand column for future orders, and you can add them with just a single click without re-uploading the terms.

Frankie Lewis:

Two customer information tools are speaker names and accents. The speaker names, I know we mentioned how easy it is to change the speaker names within the editor, but if you want to remove that reviewal process in the editor, you can submit speaker names when you place your order. In general, our freelancers love it when a file has resource information with it, and speaker names is a perfect example of that. This makes it a lot easier for them to correctly label speakers by name in the file. We always do our best to label speakers by name in your transcript or caption file, but we encourage you to provide these names when you place your order so that your team can accurately identify and label who is speaker.

Frankie Lewis:

Then there are accents. If your file contains accents, you can identify these when you submit your order. We will flag your file with appropriate accents to ensure that only freelancers who are comfortable with that accent will work on your order. You can either select the accents in a specific file, or if you have multiple files in your order that all contain the same accents, you can apply them to all files in the order. Using this feature will of course help with the accuracy of your work, but also can drastically speed up the turnaround time.

Frankie Lewis:

Lastly, we'll highlight one of our transcription add-ons: timestamps. We have a variety of customers who find timestamps an incredibly useful tool when working with audio or video files. For example, some of our video editors or researchers who are viewing and/or editing large files like interview recordings or video footage find timestamps necessary. With timestamps, each in the transcript is synced to the audio so you can click on any word in the transcript, and audio will jump to that point. This makes reviewing and editing the transcript much easier.

Frankie Lewis:

We've also heard from customers how valuable timestamps can be for YouTube content. Thanks to the popularity of the platform, marketers and creators alike are trying to find ways to attract more viewers and deliver messages that resonate. A YouTube timestamp is a way to link to a specific moment in your video. Often users will bounce or navigate away from video content if it's not what they were looking for. By adding a timestamp, you can improve retention by directing users to the most relevant portion of your video from the outset. Because most YouTube users expect to consume video content in short segments, this is especially helpful for longer videos. Not only do timestamps improve the viewer experience, but they also serve as a video SEO hack since both YouTube and Google reward their use.

Frankie Lewis:

So next time you need a tool for quicker editing or to boost your YouTube video engagement, try out Rev's timestamps. You can easily add them to your order within the checkout flow, or if you use them a lot, you can update your order preferences settings so you get timestamps with every order and don't have to worry about them moving forward.

Frankie Lewis:

Okay, that's all for helpful tips. Feel free to drop any questions. I know I touched on a lot. And now I'll pass it on to Farhan.

Farhan Manjiyani:

Hey, everyone. Again, Farhan Manjiyani. I focus on our developer product, which we call Rev.ai. In addition to our human marketplace on the next slide here, we also offer speech-to-text technology, specifically for developers that are looking to build applications using transcripts or captions. We offer this for real time, or for prerecorded audio. Our own technical teams at Rev actually also use this technology in a number of ways, for example, powering the live captions that you see today on this call, and even for our Revvers. We give them a starting point for their transcription, which ultimately helps get more accurate transcripts faster for each and every one of you. Additionally, our speech recognition technology is constantly adapting to the unique words and phrases based on the feedback loop from our Revvers so that we can always get the unique words and phrases of your business, from product names, to employees and other industry jargon. It's this flywheel of feedback that allows us to be the most accurate speech-to-text provider for individuals, businesses, and developers.

Farhan Manjiyani:

Would love to get a quick poll from you, thinking about or helping us understand how you think about globalization. If you could take the next 30 seconds or so to answer this, that'd be great... All right, let's see what we have here. 36% of you said very important, 33% somewhat important, and 31% not important yet. So we have a nice mix here. Very interesting.

Farhan Manjiyani:

Well, for the majority of you who globalization is top of mind right now, very happy to share that Rev.ai actually just got a big upgrade to help you meet global demand. We recognize that borders have been shrinking for your businesses, and today, more than ever, scaling up to meet this global demand is ever important. So today we're sharing that you can now transcribe using Rev.ai in 31 different languages. We have a global language model, meaning all the accents and dialects of these various languages. For example, France French or Canadian French can all be transcribed accurately. An important call-out here is this is taking the audio and video that's... Or sorry, the language that's spoken in the audio and video and getting a corresponding transcript of that same language. We're not yet to the point where we're translating, so for example, taking Spanish audio and getting English text, same language to same language. We encourage you to check out more of our developer tools at Rev.ai, and we're going to drop a link to a blog post telling you a little bit more about our languages here in the chat.

Farhan Manjiyani:

If you're currently looking at automatic speech recognition vendors, helpful for you to know that Rev.ai actually offers a free benchmark for any provider. We recommend using word error rate to determine the effectiveness of all vendors, and like golf, lower the word error rate, the better. In an example here, we're going to showcase word by word what mistakes were made by us, as well as any and all vendors so you have a clear picture of how we're stacking up.

Farhan Manjiyani:

The way this is going to work is you simply send us five or 10 files; we're going to some important characteristics that influence accuracy, such as what types of dialects and accents are present here, how many speakers are there, what does the noise level really look like, or how clear is this audio, and then we'll show you a beautiful chart here that breaks down how us, as well as many incumbents in the space, are actually showing up. And remember, like golf, lower the better. So if you're looking for a free benchmark test today, simply e-mail us at sales@rev.ai, and we'll drop that link in the chat as well. Back to you, Frankie.

Frankie Lewis:

Awesome. So I know that was a lot of information from all three of us, so please submit any other questions that came up during the webinar and we will get to as many as we can. Let me open up the questions now. So first question, "Can you share customized layouts or look/feel of captions examples for our premium service captions? Just curious how far the customizations can go." Briana, I will pass this one to you.

Brianna Byers:

Yeah. Hi, Molly. So we can do customizations with premium service captions in terms of onscreen positioning, and you can customize your fonts and colors like you can today with our standard captioning offer. So if there are additional customizations you want outside of that in terms of look and feel, reach out to your account manager and we'll see if we can accommodate those.

Frankie Lewis:

Awesome. Kind of related to that, Vickie asked, "Can we specify more than one style guide or special guidelines on our account? And if so, how are the differences requested?"

Brianna Byers:

Yeah. Hi, Vickie. So you'll use the customization survey to specify your customization guidelines or unique style guides, even if you have multiple different ones. Your customer success manager and support will update your account with that relevant information, and our Revvers will follow that. So if you have specific content that you need different style guides for, we can also make note of that as well.

Frankie Lewis:

Awesome. Drew asked, "Related to one of the case studies, does that mean that 80% of standard service files are being rejected?"

Brianna Byers:

Hi, Drew. So when we were talking about MBDs results with premium service captions and the ability to reduce the amount of files that got rejected by 80%, what we mean is that they were seeing roughly 15% of their files being rejected, and that dropped down to about 2-3% of those files being rejected.

Frankie Lewis:

Then Sue asked, "Was all that Brianna just shared only available to the $10,000 and up spenders?"

Brianna Byers:

Yeah. So, hey Sue. In terms of premium service captions, this is a feature available to our F Pro customers, which is that minimum threshold of around $10,000.

Frankie Lewis:

Awesome. Let's see. Another one for you, Brianna. "Can we automate caption formatting/compliance in the editor? We have a need for 30 characters per line compliance on some orders, but Rev Style Guide is 60 characters per line. Very tedious to edit this manually. Automatic formatting would be very helpful."

Brianna Byers:

Yes. I was able to ping my product manager and we're actually currently looking into this and we're willing to do more discovery around how we can meet this need. So my recommendation, please reach out to your account manager and we can set up additional conversations since this is something we are currently investigating.

Frankie Lewis:

Another one for you, Brianna. "We sent our videos to Rev through Panopto. When I first started this job last July, I was told that if I edited in Rev, it would not transfer and show up in Panopto, So we had to edit in Panopto. Is that still true?"

Brianna Byers:

This is another question I shot over to my product manager. If you could reach out to your account manager or the support team, either/or, we're happy to set up a conversation and our product team will look into this additionally to see if we can help with that.

Frankie Lewis:

Awesome. Looks like Julia asked, "Are transcripts like this available to Rev beginner or pro customers? Do you have a way to share these timestamps with students so we can create interactive transcripts for them?" I can take this one. I believe this is referencing the timestamps. Any customer, you don't have to be a Rev Pro customer, have access to timestamps as an add on, and you can add them to any of your transcripts and then share those with others. So they'd be able to see the timestamps as well.

Frankie Lewis:

We have another one from Ryan. "We have been submitting speaker names and descriptions, but have not had luck getting the speakers identified in the actual captions. Are we doing something incorrectly?" Brianna?

Brianna Byers:

Yeah, Ryan, if you're using the speaker names menu in checkout, this should work. So if it's not working, please reach out to support.

Frankie Lewis:

Thomas asked, "When you order, you can select captions or transcripts, but if you order captions, you can also output to a text file, which can be formatted as a transcript, which is what we've been doing." That is correct, Thomas. One of the outputs for captions is a TXT file. So if you want an unformatted transcript, that is an easy alternative.

Frankie Lewis:

Adam asked, "When will Spanish to English caption services be available?" Globalization, as [Ferhan] mentioned on the Rev AI side, is something obviously in motion. On the Rev.com side, it's something we're definitely thinking about. Likely won't happen this year, but probably in the next year or two. Something we're definitely thinking about. Thomas, "Are there any tools for adding notes that will pop up in a transcript? We deal with firms about folk life. It would be handy if within a transcript, a word or phrase could be highlighted, and a mouse over would make a note visible." So there is ... Oh, I see, it says much easier than having to scroll to the end of the transcript for the notes. That's really good feedback. I will pass it along to our product team. Making small adjustments to our editors that better meet your guys' needs is something we're constantly thinking about. So the fact that the notes go to the bottom is not helpful. I will definitely share that with the team.

Frankie Lewis:

Laura asked, "Do you have any plans to allow the conversion of transcripts to caption files and/or caption files to formatted transcripts?" So like I mentioned, currently there is an option to download a TXT file if you placed an order for a caption file. Other than that, we don't have any plans to create any type of conversion, though we are thinking through how can we better meet customers' needs in terms of if they need both transcripts and captions. What does that workflow look like for you today and how could it be improved? So any additional context you can give us on how you're using both and what would be ideal for you, we'd love to hear it, and I can share it with the product team.

Frankie Lewis:

Brandy asked about the Rev voice recorder. "Were you bringing back the merge call feature so that we can obtain consent before recording calls?" I will check with our product team on that. I am not totally sure. I know we made changes to our call recorder recently, and I'm not sure how that affected the voice recorder. Let's see. Did I miss any others?

Brianna Byers:

I would also say too if there's any specific questions that we weren't able to answer today, or service lines that you're interested in, please let your account manager or support know. The more information we get around the need for certain things, the more of a use case we can build internally for that and get it onto our product roadmap. So we're continually looking to get your feedback, better understand what you need, and deliver on this.

Frankie Lewis:

Awesome. Unless ... Oh, it looks like one more. Todd had asked, "Do you know if there are any plans for Rev's live captioning to work on the Zoom gov.com platform?" As of now, no, but I will make sure to share that with our team and that there's interest in that and see if that's something we would ever consider in the future.

Frankie Lewis:

Looks like one number. Farhan, I'll pass this one to you. "For the five script word error rate test, just reach out with scripts. Does it cover atmospherics too, or only audio verbal items?

Farhan Manjiyani:

Good question. This is going to be specific to audio verbal items, assuming if we're defining that correctly, just specifically what is said in the audio or video. So you could send five at minimum, but up to 10 files, if you'd like, Wally.

Frankie Lewis:

Awesome. Thomas had asked, "Is there integration with Vimeo? You only mentioned YouTube." Yes, we do have a Vimeo integration. If you go to Rev.com/integrations, I believe, you can see all the information about all of our integrations, including both YouTube and Vimeo.

Frankie Lewis:

And Gregory had asked about live captioning working on Vimeo. Currently our live captioning is only through Zoom, so unfortunately not in Vimeo today. Awesome. Any other questions? I think we've gotten through most of them. One other one. "How do I access the setting for timestamps on all of my transcription orders?" So if you go to your settings within Rev and go to order preferences, scroll down to transcription settings and set enable timestamps by default to yes. Then you will no longer have to place timestamps on every order. They will just be added.

Frankie Lewis:

Thomas asks, "We sometimes need to slide captions around if a film is edited. Do you have a tool for this?" Unfortunately, we don't have a tool for that today. Though again, important for us to hear and if there's ways that we can make our captions more customizable for your work, then it's important for us to know.

Frankie Lewis:

"Do live captions need to be requested/ordered a certain number of days in advance?" So, our live captions for meetings do not have to be ordered in advance. Once you set up your monthly subscription, you can easily have them appear on any of your meetings. Webinars, you have to set up 24 hours in advance of the webinar. Awesome. Well, I think we've covered all the questions for the most part. If there's anything that we missed, feel free, like Brianna said, you can reach out to your account manager, or you can reach out to support team. We'll also be following up with a recording and slides from this, as well as any of the links that we dropped in the chat throughout the webinar. We hope that you guys have enjoyed this and we really appreciate all the questions and engagement. We were really excited to see some excitement around some of the things we've been sharing. So, thank you again, and we'll talk to you next quarter.
