The shift to remote work has created myriad challenges for the media & entertainment industry. Creators, directors, and producers alike have had to figure out new ways to attack old problems, to get faster and smarter, and to reach stuck-at-home audiences who are hungrier than ever for content.
On Wednesday, September 23rd at 12 p.m. CT, we'll sit down for an open discussion between Jacob Reed, an award-winning director and writer, and Rev's own video producer, Austin Canary, to hear first-hand how you can overcome some of the current challenges, and trim the fat from your workflow without sacrificing collaboration or creativity.
Jacob Reed is known for his ability to craft nuanced performances from improvisers and Oscar-winners alike, owed partially to more than a decade as a teacher and performer at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. Jacob has directed for Jimmy Kimmel Live, Comedy Central, Funny or Die, Nickelodeon and BuzzFeed. His ability to tap into pop-cultural moments has resulted in hundreds of millions of views for his videos. His commercial clients include Miller Lite, Ford, IKEA, Chili’s, Amazon, Macy’s, LEGO, Google, Hot Wheels, Hasbro, Coffee-mate, Wendy’s, Best Buy, LG, Whiskas, and many others.
Austin Canary manages video and content marketing for Rev, the leading technology for speech-to-text services. Austin has a background in media production and a deep passion for creative storytelling. He graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Radio-TV-Film.
